You can go up to 4.000 meters all the way to Chile's border and admire "Los Penitentes Sanjuaninos" which are icy formations caused by the sun and the wind over snowy areas on arid lands. This is a unique phenomena only found in latitudes like San Juan 's or some places in Asia.

El Leoncito, Barreal, is just the appropriate place for this sport in which no engines of any kind are involved but only the blowing force of the wind is needed. Cars literally run with the wind reaching levels of high speed over 135 km/h.

You can practice this at Ullum dam, but the best place for this activity is “Cuesta del Viento" dam. It is thought to be one of the most fitting places due to the strong and powerful wind that characterizes this region.
