The geographical diversity of rugged terrain and the amazing landscape make of San Juan one of the major tourist attractions for the practice of high - risk sports in Argentina.

  Rafting  
 
It is practiced in the waters of Jachal river along a course of 12 km. It is a trail marked by sudden whirlpools interrupted by quieter currents what makes it easier for the inexperienced adventurer to have a great time.

  All - terrain vehicle traveling  
 
You can go up to 4.000 meters all the way to Chile's border and admire "Los Penitentes Sanjuaninos" which are icy formations caused by the sun and the wind over snowy areas on arid lands. This is a unique phenomena only found in latitudes like San Juan 's or some places in Asia.

  WindCar  
 
El Leoncito, Barreal, is just the appropriate place for this sport in which no engines of any kind are involved but only the blowing force of the wind is needed. Cars literally run with the wind reaching levels of high speed over 135 km/h.

  WindSurf  
 
You can practice this at Ullum dam, but the best place for this activity is “Cuesta del Viento" dam. It is thought to be one of the most fitting places due to the strong and powerful wind that characterizes this region.

  Enduro, trekking, horse-back riding & MTB  
 
Given the mountainous landscape of San Juan, it is not difficult to find places to explore on foot, on horse, by bike or riding a motorbike. Barreal, Iglesia, Zonda and Ullum are excellent choices for these activities.

  Rock climbing & Rappel  
 
This is mostly done in Zonda since it presents the most suitable geographic design to practice this sport.
